Dog Grooming Essentials: Earthbath

I get really dirty at the park and in the rain, so I get bathed a lot more then the average pupster. That is why my shampoo is really important. It doesn't dry out my skin at all or make me itchy. It just makes me soft and cuddly :)

This is what I use. Its Earthbath Puppy Shampoo. A totally natural product that's even safe for the environment. It is tearless and my Mom can actually understand the ingredient list: 

Purified water, renewable coconut based cleansers, aloe vera, natural cherry essence, olive oil squalene (natural preservative). All ingredients are natural and 100% biodegradable.

I recommend this 100%, it lasts forever as you can dilute it 1 part soap to 10 parts water! I have already had it my whole entire life and the bottle is still almost full!!
Ps. It is also safe to use on flea treatments, and wont wash it off :)

My second favourite grooming essential by Earthbath. It is their ear wipes. I had a liquid ear cleaner that we got from the vet but just the smell caused me to run under the bed and hide! These are so easy to use even for the most wiley of pups! They are fragrance free, and use natural witch hazel and other plant extracts to clean!

Lately my eyes have been tearing a bit. I don't know why but its not the best look for me. I haven't yet but I'm going to get the eye wipes from this brand as well. I will let you know how they do at removing the tear stains. They only contain Purified water, aloe vera, boric acid, polysorbate. In my eyes the more natural the better!!!

Food

I love to eat. I have just recently switched my foods from puppy food to one that's OK for all life stages. I am currently eating Acana Grasslands Dog food. It is a Canadian brand and all the ingredients are fit for human consumption which I love. Just because I'm a pup doesn't mean I want to be eating the gross bits full of hormones!! That's not natural at all. My mom knows alot of the commercial dog food is actually very unhealthy so make sure you are checking the ingredients and sources just as much as you would for yourself. What the company says about this food is this:

  I eat 3 times a day, about half a cup for each meal. 

   



In the summer I was eating a higher protein formula, but the same makers of Acana. It is called Orijin, and was the puppy formula. I switched because now that its yucky weather I don't need as much protein because I'm not outside playing for hours on end. 




Before I was on Orijin I was eating the Halo 'Spots Stew'. Its a American brand that is promoted by Ellen Degeneres. They say it doesn't contain chicken meal and that is their big selling feature. I also tried a Salmon version which was just gross. I stopped eating all together because I disliked it so much.  And that's saying a lot because come on, I eat everything!!! 
This one just wasn't for me, I wanted something more natural and one that was made closer to home!

Rainy Day Pup

Hey Pupsters


The last few days have been cold, dark and wet. This is no fun for a city dog like me! Going for walks just is not enough exercise, and there are usually not any of my pals at the park either! Also going to the dirty park means I have to get a bath!!! So I'm just wondering what do you guys do on rainy days? I usually cuddle my mom and teddy, and when I do go out I wear my rain coat for my short walks. Sometimes i even run up and down the hallway but I'm pretty sure the neighbours don't approve...

Make Your Dog Stop Pulling

Hiya Pups!




Today I got a new harness. Its a Gentle Leader easy walk harness.  My humans were skeptical about it but it really does work! I pull a lot, you know just following my nose, but not anymore. I am finally walking like a a good Pup. 

It fastens at the front and so when i pull to far ahead it pulls me a little to the side so I don't even try even more. My humans highly recommend it and wish they had got it earlier. My mom just doesn't think its quite as cute as some others but whatever works works! Its even pretty comfy on!
